About you:
The Senior Finance Business Partner for Global Real Estate and General Insurance will serve as the strategic financial liaison for a global software company's property portfolio and insurance operations.
This is a key role in driving the business towards achieving its long-term objectives and requires a commercially focused individual, who can work effectively at a senior management level, with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
This will require a detailed understanding of key performance metrics, financial understanding, a forward-looking mindset and the gravitas to influence people from across the business. This is a high-profile role, working directly with Board level executives reporting to the Group Finance Director.
Day-to-day, you will:
• Partner with real estate and facilities teams to develop comprehensive annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for global property portfolio, including office leases, co-working spaces, and owned facilities across multiple countries and currencies.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis on real estate decisions including lease renewals, new office acquisitions, space optimization initiatives, and make-versus-buy evaluations to support strategic expansion and consolidation efforts.
• Manage financial oversight of global insurance programs including property, general liability, cyber, directors and officers, and other corporate insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage while optimizing premium costs and deductibles.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analysis for real estate and insurance expenses, identifying cost drivers and providing actionable insights to leadership on budget performance and emerging trends.
• Support contract negotiations by providing financial modeling and cost-benefit analysis for lease agreements, insurance renewals, and vendor contracts, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with corporate financial objectives.
• Collaborate with legal, risk management, and procurement teams to evaluate insurance claims, assess financial impact of coverage gaps, and develop risk mitigation strategies that balance cost and protection.
• Lead annual insurance program reviews and broker evaluations, analyzing market conditions and coverage options to optimize the company's risk transfer strategy while maintaining appropriate protection levels.
• Provide financial guidance on real estate portfolio optimization initiatives, including space utilization studies, hybrid work impact assessments, and market analysis to support data-driven decisions on global footprint strategy.
Your skills and experiences might also include:
• Experienced FBP, with accredited financial qualifications, e.g. ACA/CIMA/ACCA/MBA
• Commercially aware with proven ability to identify and drive strategy, who is results oriented
• Able to partner with and influence senior non-finance business execs
• Capability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills capable of conveying complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences
• Excellent decision-making capabilities and experience in providing financial guidance to senior executives.
• Ability to foster cross-functional relationships to drive a collaborative environment and improve efficiencies
• Resilience and ability to operate in a high growth and fast paced environment
• Expertise in financial modelling (strong Excel skills required) and some experience in investment appraisal
• Experience in software related business specifically in revenue growth & pricing
• Can operate effectively in a virtual team environment across multiple locations
