Senior Finance Director for EMEALA, you’ll be at the heart of that mission — steering strategic financial decisions that will shape the region’s growth for years to come.
The Opportunity
This is more than a finance role — it’s a seat at the table. You’ll partner closely with the EMEALA Head of Region and senior leadership to set priorities, guide investments, and influence business strategy. With a direct link to global decision-making, you’ll drive financial planning, forecasting, and policy that enables Illumina to achieve both short- and long-term ambitions.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a strategic finance advisor to the EMEALA Head of Region and leadership team, ensuring alignment with global strategy.
- Deliver insightful, enterprise-wide financial analysis to guide growth plans and operational priorities.
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning process across Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Anticipate risks and opportunities, recommending innovative solutions to optimize performance.
- Oversee investment modelling and business case development for new initiatives.
- Present clear, compelling financial reports to senior stakeholders and global executives.
- Partner with Shared Services on accounting, tax, and compliance matters, ensuring strong controls.
- Build and lead a high-performing regional finance team, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
- Represent Finance in enterprise-wide strategic initiatives that move Illumina forward.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
- Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles, ideally within life sciences, biotech, medtech, pharma, or high-tech.
- Proven success leading finance in complex, multinational environments.
- Strong expertise in FP&A, strategic finance, forecasting, and modelling.
- Skilled in influencing senior leaders and shaping business strategy.
- Proficiency with enterprise planning tools (SAP, TM1, Cognos).
- Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
- Fluent in English (additional languages a plus).

- Full-time, Monday–Friday, with 2–3 days per week in-office in Cambridge UK (plus further on-site presence as needed).
