Purpose of the role:
This role is to lead our finance teams for the Continental Europe region (Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Norway), the key components of the role will be to lead Reporting, Control, Budgeting and Cashflow for the region.
The ideal candidate will be an experience finance professional who has a pedigree in leading remote teams and working across various jurisdictions. In this role, you will be the accounting champion and enforce best practice, you will help improve internal controls, input in the cashflow process and partner with the business to produce budgets and forecasts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop a finance team of three based across the region
- Be the financial commercial partner to country managers in the region
- Lead month end for the region, delivering management accounts to Group within the defined Group month end timetable and provide clear analysis and narrative on the results
- As part of month end ensure manual revenue recognition (Percentage On Completion) is produced accurately by the projects managers in each country. Be part of the project team to implement automated revenue recognition
- Ensure internal controls in the region are completed in line with expectations and imput into the project to improve the control environment
- Partner with the business to produce all budgets and forecasts
- Input into the Group cashflow processes, including 13-week cashflow
- Lead the production of year end financial statements under IFRS, lead the local audits and work with external consultants to produce local GAAP statutory accounts in line with defined timelines
- Partner with the centralised tax function to produce indirect and year end direct tax returns on a timely basis
- Participate in projects and champion continuous improvement in the region
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with at least 10 years of accounting experience
- Experience in the Professional Services or Consulting industries
- Experience with SAP 4Hana is preferred
- Experience in working across multiple jurisdictions
- A strong aptitude for financial processes and internal controls
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
