THE TEAM
We are looking for a Sr. Group Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team based in London. You will be reporting into the Group Reporting Manager and you will be working closely with the Group Financial Controller.
The Group Finance team is responsible for the consolidation, analysis and presentation of Group financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and full-year basis.
SCOPE OF ROLE
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for major trading and holding entities, including comprehensive analytical reviews of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting principles across all entities, in alignment with the Group Accounting Manual.
- Act as a key point of contact for regional teams, providing expert guidance, coaching, and resolution of technical accounting issues.
- Drive improvements to financial reporting as a whole by co-ordinating with local controllers and the wider group finance team.
- Review and reconcile intercompany balances, investigating and resolving material discrepancies to ensure accuracy and integrity of group financials.
- Lead the preparation of interim and full-year consolidated financial statements under IFRS, and proactively engage with Group auditors throughout the audit process.
- Maintain compliance with IFRS by monitoring changes to reporting standards, preparing technical memos on relevant updates for both internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Oversee the preparation and review of the Group Annual Report, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and deliver ad-hoc financial analyses and reports for the Management Board, Group CFO, and Audit Committee.
- Prepare quarterly financial reports and presentations for investors, the stock exchange, and fulfill other ad-hoc regulatory reporting obligations.
- Manage the preparation of quarterly share-based payment journals and disclosure reports for both Group-level and local statutory reporting requirements.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- ACA qualified accountant (ICAEW or equivalent)
- Excellent IFRS knowledge
- Strong and proven attention to detail, proactive approach and a strong technical focus
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, to cut through complex issues
- Great Excel skills with some experience in Finance/Accounting systems (SAP, Hyperion/HFM, Onestream or Group ERP knowledge a plus, but not essential)
- Prior experience in statutory accounts and group consolidations in practice or commerce
- Flexible attitude and ability to cope well with the demands of an ever evolving company
- A friendly and outgoing team player who demonstrates a desire to learn and willingness to support the goals of the wider organisation
