Senior Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Financial Controller to join a growing finance team within a global private capital markets firm.

This is a critical role in the ongoing development of the Finance function, reporting directly to the Head of Finance and based in central London.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Controller will take ownership of group financial reporting and regulatory responsibilities, including:

• Oversight of month-end close processes for UK group entities
• Preparation of group consolidated accounts
• Preparation of statutory accounts and coordination of year-end audits for the UK entities and the group
• Review and submission of financial regulatory reporting in the UK, including coordination with Compliance, implementation of new regulatory requirements, and regulatory capital forecasting
• Oversight and administration of co-investment vehicles, including preparation of accounts, loan scheme management, and coordination of information for limited partnership tax returns
• Oversight and administration of the company’s shareholding scheme, including preparation of accounts and loan scheme management
• Management of two direct reports
• Development and maintenance of group accounting policies and procedures
• Identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance robustness and efficiency in financial reporting
• Contribution to strategic projects, ad hoc financial analysis, and reporting as required

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a strong background in financial or professional services. Key requirements include:

• Degree educated (2:1 or higher) or equivalent
• Accounting qualification with 5+ years post-qualification experience
• 10+ years in a similar role within financial or professional services
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.)
• Highly organised, efficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Strong team player with integrity, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to support others
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines under pressure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with accounting software, ideally Microsoft Business Central
