Senior Financial Controller & Manager – UK
Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners is an Infrastructure Fund that invests in global renewable energy, storage, digital infrastructure, and decarbonisation projects and technologies. To date, Quinbrook has invested billions of dollars in the energy transition across the US, UK, and Australia in a range of large-scale solar, wind, battery, and alternative energy projects. with offices in London, America and Australia.
Quinbrook is looking to enhance its Finance department to become a best in class, controlled, scalable function and to develop procedures and controls at Quinbrook grows its AUM across its equity funds. The Finance team deals with various internal and external stakeholders and needs to provide timely and accurate reporting and meet all statutory deadlines.
Quinbrook are looking for a person who can confidently lead the UK Finance team as well as that of independent service providers. The Senior Financial Controller will work closely with the FD and will be an important member in the Finance team, undertaking a lead role and also managing several reports.
Role
- Drive finance team process improvement and implement best in class controls in a rapidly growing environment
- Be a key player in the Finance Team with respect to ensuring the team has consistent controls/procedures, create a dynamic, positive team environment with excellent communication and team work
- Mentoring and management of UK Finance team members on Fund, Corporate and FP&A matters as well as being a ‘hands on’ team player
- Lead internal projects and initiatives in relation to financial products, data quality, reporting and performance monitoring systems
- Implement processes and systems to maximise accuracy, efficiency and transparency
- Work on strategic projects as required and advising of future funds set up and structures
- Implement opportunities to enhance fund operations and returns. For example, fund hedging program, fund subscription lines and GP financing facilities
- Be lead Finance point of contact on M&A activity including corporate structuring, liaising with tax advisors, liaising with banks and any outsourced accounting providers
- Assisting in quarterly and annual fair value assessments of invested assets in accordance with applicable Quinbrook valuation policies and relevant IFRS and US GAAP accounting rules and principles
- Further enhance budgeting process and report variances to actuals on quarterly basis
- Provide regular management company dashboards/data packs with reference to group cash flow projections and dividends
- Manage reporting of timely and accurate financial information for fund and portfolio companies including presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and Board members, as required.
- Set up and utilise systems and technology in the Finance team to enhance Quinbrook data, performance reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Lead audit the process, quarterly reporting, manage administrators and tax providers
- Lead service provider KPIs and ensure all deliverables are met and take initiative to improve Quinbrook/service relationships
- Periodically review service provider performance and, as required, change service providers in a controlled manner Eg. Tax providers, fund administrators, payroll providers, auditors etc.
- Review Finance teams & administrators work as well as Quinbrook internally produced files inclusive of performance returns, AUM metrics and carry calculations
- Managing and liaising with Auditors over the full audit process to ensure a successful audit for both Funds and Group entities.
- Ensure full supporting documents are provided to auditors
- Managing administrators to ensure they are meeting deadlines and work with them to ensure accounting, capital calls, distributions, debt drawdowns, ad hoc requests are completed on time and to a good standard.
- Manage the funds flow process and develop procedures to ensure portfolio company needs are looked at in respect to overall fund level
- Reviewing group companies, GP financials, cash flow forecasts and dividend process
- Work on corporate and regulatory financial and tax filings and transfer pricing for all group entities
- Manage KYC requests for financings, syndications, M&A transactions, government filings, and others as needed.
- Review of management company matters i.e.. Payroll, VAT returns, cashflows
- Supporting any new fundraising activities undertaken by Quinbrook globally as required

Desired background
- History of progressive career growth
- A strong financial intellect, underpinned by operational prowess with a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA,), IFRS knowledge and at least 10 years experience as a financial controller with a fund.
- Audit background with recent experience working at a Fund Manager or an administrator of Funds
- Experience with finance projects including system reviews and implementations
- Exposure to risk management including financial controls and mitigating actions
- Experience with statutory financials (Funds and Corporate), budgeting and forecasting, FP&A skills
- Exposure to Infrastructure Funds
- Past experience with Jersey, Luxembourg, Delaware and Australian entities/structures
- Experience with regulatory filings for group entities a plus, ie FCA, SEC, JFSC and ASIC
