The Opportunity
A high-performing proprietary trading firm is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to take full ownership of fund accounting and financial control across multiple trading strategies and legal entities. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role at the core of the business, suited to someone with a sharp eye for detail and a strong command of multi-asset trading environments.
This individual will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, acting as the key finance contact across the firm while ensuring best-in-class control, reporting, and reconciliation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of daily and monthly P&L and NAV production across internal and external fund structures
- End-to-end valuation and reconciliation of trading activity across equities, FX, futures, options, and other derivatives
- Liaise directly with traders, operations, and senior management to resolve breaks, price mismatches, and trade discrepancies
- Manage relationships and deliverables with fund administrators, prime brokers, and auditors
- Oversee capital allocations, performance attribution, and fee calculations
- Identify, implement, and own process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements
- Work alongside engineering teams to improve data flows and reporting infrastructure
- Stay current on regulatory and structural changes that impact fund accounting or reporting standards
Required Experience & Skills
- 3+ years’ experience in fund accounting, NAV control, or product control
- Experience in a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or investment bank (ideally within a trading or finance function)
- Strong understanding of trading instruments and valuation across multiple asset classes
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Technically strong with advanced Excel skills; SQL or Python is a plus
- Familiarity with fund accounting or reporting systems such as Geneva, Enfusion, or equivalent
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills
- Strong commercial mindset and ability to engage with both front office and back office stakeholders
