RINA is currently recruiting for a
Senior Gas Turbine Engineering Consultant to join its office in Leatherhead within the Operations and Maintenance Engineering Division.
What You'll Do
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Lead Investigations: Conduct detailed assessments and failure investigations of gas turbine components using state-of-the-art labs and advanced analysis tools.
- Deliver Expert Insight: Provide trusted technical advice that helps clients improve performance, reliability, and risk management.
- Communicate with Confidence: Prepare and deliver high-quality reports and presentations, clearly explaining complex engineering findings to varied audiences.
- Travel with Purpose: Occasionally visit client sites in the UK and abroad to inspect equipment and deliver in-person consultancy.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and a passion for solving complex problems. You should have:
- A degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (PhD or equivalent is a plus)
- In-depth knowledge of gas or steam turbines and their materials
- Experience in component assessments, failure investigations, and operational data analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A methodical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving ability
- A full UK driving license (preferred)
- Flexibility to travel internationally at short notice
Technical Expertise
You’ll stand out if you also bring:
- Deep understanding of turbine materials and their degradation in service
- Experience with life assessments and failure mechanisms
- Proven track record managing and delivering complex technical projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software
- Precision and attention to detail in all aspects of your work
