We work with a wide range of clients to manage their property portfolios, projects and transactions and due to our continuing success; Ridge and Partners are now looking for a talented Geospatial Surveyor to join our multi-disciplinary consultancy office in our Oxford office.
As a Senior Geospatial Surveyor at Ridge you will benefit from opportunities to further develop your skills and experience whilst working on prestigious projects. Our projects include large residential, industrial and commercial schemes with contract values over £30 million to much smaller schemes. You will also work with interesting clients including, large retail companies, local authorities, Schools/Universities, contractors, developers etc together with the option to work on exciting overseas projects.
Role And Responsibilities
- Lead surveyor for projects - liaising directly with clients - managing project timescales and co-ordination of resources to meet deadlines.
- Team leader responsibilities - understanding of team management/resources and accounting for meeting monthly team targets. Analysing project accounting including the profitability of projects and possible actions required as a result.
- Bidding for new work and opportunities and liaising with new and current contacts.
- Undertaking topographical surveys using the latest in robotic total station and GPS technology.
- Processing and analysing topographical survey data to create 2D/3D topographical surveys using N4CE and AutoCAD.
- Undertaking measured building surveys using a variety of specialist laser scanning equipment including the Leica P40, Leica RTC360, NavVis VLX and MLX.
- Registration and processing of laser scan survey data into useable point cloud data using Leica Cyclone and Faro Scene.
- Analysing data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD and GIS.
- Preparing survey drawings from survey data using AutoCAD.
- Presenting data to clients and writing reports.
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members to develop their knowledge and skills in surveying.
The role requires a combination of working within a team office environment whilst also carrying out on site surveying on a range of sites and projects. There is a requirement to travel to sites and sometimes work away from home for short periods. Depending on workload and project requirements there may occasionally be a need to work shifts or out of hours.
Skills And Experience
- A relevant technical degree/HND in surveying is preferred but not essential.
- Full clean diving license is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating survey instruments such as Leica Total Stations, Leica P40, Leica RTC360, Leica BLK2GO, and NavVis VLX, or comparable equipment, is required.
- Experienced user of AutoCAD
- Experience in using Leica Cyclone or Register 360 to process laser scan datasets is essential. Similar software packages such as Trimble Realworks or Faro Scene is also acceptable.
- Skilled in using N4ce, or similar, to process and develop Topographical Surveys.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team
