Senior Internal Auditor

We're looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join Intrum UK's Internal Audit team. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering audits from our annual internal audit plan, managing each phase from initial scoping and planning through to clear, insightful reporting. Your work will be essential in assessing the effectiveness of our risk management practices, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance with Group internal rules and UK regulatory standards.

This role can be based at any of our UK offices, with travel to meet internal stakeholders as needed, along with the flexibility to work from home.

What you'll do:

• Lead and support internal audit engagements from planning to reporting.
• Evaluate internal controls, governance, and risk management frameworks.
• Provide clear, actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Monitor audit actions and support remediation efforts.
• Collaborate across multiple first and second line of defence functions.
• Stay up to date with FCA, UK GDPR, ISO standards and other regulatory changes.
• Champion a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
• Devoted to the FCA principle of Consumer Duty; by ensuring we are driving good customer outcomes across all aspects of services that have potential to impact on our customers.

What you bring:

• Experience in internal audit practices, risk management, and/or compliance within preferably the financial services and/ or a regulated environment.
• Able to work independently on audit engagements, with minimal supervision whilst knowing when to escalate issues.
• Strong report writing skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly and concisely to varied audiences.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in working with UK regulatory frameworks (e.g. FCA, UK GDPR)
• Any professional audit or accounting qualification such as ACA, CA, ACCA, CMIIA or CIA is an advantage.
• Experience in debt collection, credit management, or consumer finance would be advantageous.
