Senior Investment Risk Manager – Nest Invest

Nest Invest

Canary Wharf, London (with hybrid working)

Nest Invest is on an ambitious journey to become one of the world’s largest asset owners. With c.£50 billion in assets under management today, we’re on track to more than double that figure by the end of the decade. This rapid growth brings exciting opportunities and increasing operational complexity. As our portfolio expands and we engage with a broader network of external managers, operational excellence becomes more critical than ever.

The role

This is a newly created role as Senior Investment Risk Manager, to own the production of performance and risk analysis for all asset classes and the overall member portfolios. The incumbent will provide independent collaborative challenge, highlighting areas of market risk concentrations and sources of returns, while affording quantitative support to the investment process. This includes embedding the Nest Invest Risk Management Framework, providing objective oversight and challenge, and enabling risk-informed decision-making aligned to Nest Invest’s strategic objectives.

The person

The successful candidate will be an experienced and hands on Senior Investment Risk Manager with:

  • Experience covering both private and public market investments.
  • Knowledge of risk modelling techniques for multi-asset portfolios (e.g. Aladdin).
  • Knowledge of performance and attribution calculations for multi-asset portfolios.
  • Good understanding of investment accounting and investment data, including accounting systems.
  • Good systems and technical experience, programming capabilities desirable.

We are looking for someone who is able to think intuitively and autonomously. Possesses strong influencing skills to engage effectively with others, providing direction and challenge where required and an ability to build and maintain relationships.
