Job Title: Java, AWS – Senior / Tech Lead

Location: Nottingham, United Kingdom (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote)

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Senior Java Developer / Technical Lead with strong AWS expertise to join our dynamic team in Nottingham. You will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable cloud-based applications, ensuring high-quality delivery and mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of Java-based applications on AWS.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, and developers to define technical requirements and solutions.
Develop and maintain scalable cloud solutions using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and API Gateway.
Ensure high code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to best practices.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:

Strong experience in Java development (Java 8+).
Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
Knowledge of Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and serverless architectures.
Experience in designing and implementing microservice architectures.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience in mentoring junior developers and leading teams.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
