About The Role
As the
Sr. L&D Specialist, you'll support employees, people managers and new joiners, primarily through orientation and various learning and development programs. This dynamic role involves meticulous administrative tasks like event coordination, logistics, venue booking, vendor management, and budget tracking. Concurrently, you'll facilitate L&D training sessions, schedule trainers, manage registrations, and provide technical support to ensure effective employee development.
What You Will Do
- Be the lead facilitator of New Employee Orientation (NEO) in Europe and ensure that new employees receive a positive and welcoming experience, and that their questions and concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
- Support Confluent’s existing and future leadership and management development programs by managing program logistics, providing input on program design, and co-facilitating in-person and virtual programming.
- Ensure that new employees receive timely and accurate information necessary to acclimate quickly to the Confluent culture.
- Coordinate in-person training events primarily out of EMEA regional hubs (London, UK and Barcelona, Spain).
- Work closely with key business partners in scheduling guest speakers for training events.
- Book hotel accommodations (catering, meeting space, transportation, etc.), internal and external meeting venues, and other venues and activities as needed for in-person events.
- Utilize the LMS (Workday Learning) to track attendance and manage reporting for in-person training events and other L&D sessions.
- Monitor L&D communication channels such as: corporate intranet pages, slack channels, Learning email inbox, and the Jira ticket L&D queue.
What You Will Bring
- 2+ years of relevant experience in HR, Onboarding, Recruiting or Learning & Development, with proven experience building and implementing successful employee programs.
- Virtual and in-person facilitation experience including experience with using web conferencing platforms to host small and large classes using features such as break out rooms, whiteboards, chat and screen sharing.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work independently to propose ideas, create content, and deliver on deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
What Gives You An Edge
- Proven expertise in delivering learning content for virtual and asynchronous delivery.
- Experience using Workday Learning, as well as industry standard content authoring and survey tools.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations based on findings.
- Experience using AI and automation tools in a Learning & Development environment
