ISS UK Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and technically strong Senior Management Accountant to join our UK & Ireland Controlling function. This is a key role for a qualified finance professional who thrives on accuracy, control, and delivering high-quality reporting to support both operational and strategic decision-making.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this technically focused role, you will be responsible for producing accurate, insightful management accounts, maintaining the integrity of financial data, and driving improvements in financial control processes. You will support business-critical reporting cycles, oversee complex reconciliations, and provide analytical depth to forecast variances and performance trends.

This position requires excellent command of financial systems, advanced Excel capabilities, and a strong working knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and internal control frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and internal policies
• Lead the monthly close process, including journal preparation, accruals, prepayments, and complex balance sheet reconciliations
• Design and maintain robust financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
• Perform detailed variance analysis and root cause investigation to support performance reporting
• Ensure accurate cost allocations and consistency across business units
• Support ongoing enhancement of reporting tools and systems; contribute to finance automation projects
• Monitor compliance with internal controls, working closely with audit, risk, and compliance teams
• Drive process improvements across financial reporting, controls, and planning cycles

What We’re Looking For

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) – essential
• Strong technical accounting background, with experience in IFRS and/or UK GAAP
• Proven track record in a management accounting or financial control role within a complex organisation
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; Power BI experience a plus
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
• Confident communicator, able to present complex data to non-finance stakeholders
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and system/process optimisation
