We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, CCO Governance. The base location for this role is Edinburgh.
Group COO (GCOO) provides essential support for the bank through operations, operational resilience, and key central business services such as procurement and real estate services.
The Business Risk and Resilience (BRR) organization sits within GCOO and comprises of a set of outcome focused service pillars, including the GCOO Chief Control Office. The GCOO Chief Control Office are subject matter experts in Risk and Control, to help develop knowledge and understanding of governance.
The role will be reporting into the Head of Risk Framework and Governance for GCOO Business Risk to support on core governance activities related to the Group Risk Management Meeting, Group Risk Committee, Group Audit Committee, and the Risk and Control Management Meeting (RCMM), and external governance.
In This Role You Will
- Coordinate and write risk and controls briefing notes for the Group COO for Board-level committees.
- Produce ad-hoc risk and control materials for internal and external governance requirements.
- Oversee production of RCMMs.
- Provide governance advisory across GCOO for ensuring risk and control topics are adequately covered in a complete, accurate and timely manner via the RCMMs.
- Assess inputs into the GCOO RCMM, to ensure quality of updates and articulation of risks and control deficiencies.
- Be a point of contact on the risk management framework, providing opinion and views from a risk and control perspective on topics within GCOO and across the bank.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Strong skills in writing, particularly Board-level updates.
- Strong ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a high attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of the risk management framework.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.
- Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to influence and manage stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
- Self-driven and pro-active with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrates flexibility when addressing shifting or competing priorities.
