Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 Depending on Experience

The Public Affairs team is part of the Bank’s Strategy & Engagement Directorate. You will have the opportunity to work alongside policy, strategy communications and sustainability experts at an exciting time for the Bank: following the Spending Review announcement in June, the Bank has a refreshed and ambitious agenda for the coming years. The Bank’s British Growth Partnership will boost institutional investment in venture capital and there is a rich policy and public affairs agenda behind all aspects of the Bank’s remit.
The Role
As Senior Manager, Public Affairs, you’ll take the lead in shaping and delivering our public affairs strategy, working with colleagues from across the Bank. The team hold broad stakeholder relationships which are key to the Bank’s operating context, including but not limited to Ministers, parliamentarians, think tanks, trade associations and the UK (and international) the business and finance community.
In this role you will work to ensure that the Bank’s vast and evolving stakeholders understand and support our work.
You Will Have An Interest In Policy And Public Affairs And Ideally Some Experience And Knowledge Of Financial Services / Business. You Can Expect To
- Lead high-profile projects that align in support of the Bank’s five year plan
- Deepen, broaden and maintain key relationships across Westminster, including with organisations that influence Westminster, with Devolved Administrations, and regional stakeholders.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leaders
- Be adept at writing high-quality communications e.g. speeches and select committee briefings
- Manage and develop team members
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related policy role - ideally with a strong network in Parliament and some experience in business. You will posses a degree or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
