About The Role
You will join the Business Platforms & Delivery team, a global function focused on optimizing our data architecture, tooling, and reporting capabilities. The team is based across the UK, US, India, and Singapore and collaborates closely with business stakeholders across Finance, IT, and Strategy.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of data architecture and finance & operations, helping shape how financial and operational data is structured, consumed, and leveraged across Synamedia. You will lead and develop a small team, playing a key part in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making at Synamedia. You will be a key driver in designing scalable data models, working on automation initiatives, and supporting the implementation of best practices in data management and governance.
We’re looking for a hands-on, commercially aware data architect to help bring our enterprise data strategy to life, supporting alignment across teams and laying the groundwork for insightful, traceable reporting.
Responsibilities
- You will define and implement scalable data architecture solutions to support financial planning, reporting, and analytics.
- You will build, optimize, troubleshoot, and document ETL processes and data flows.
- You will write efficient SQL queries for data analysis and pipeline design.
- You will support the integration of data from ERP (D365 F&O), HR, and other key systems into the data warehouse and reporting landscape.
- You will collaborate with teams across business units to build and maintain a shared enterprise data dictionary and consistent business logic
- You will work closely with stakeholders in Finance and IT to translate business needs into effective data models and pipelines.
- You will help ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across financial systems.
- You will stay informed of new tools, techniques, and trends in the data and analytics space relevant to finance.
Skills Required
- 10+ years of experience in a data architecture, data engineering, or business intelligence role.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL – ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries is essential.
- Exposure to data warehouse design principles and ETL frameworks.
- Experience with data modeling concepts and building robust data pipelines.
- Experience working with ERP systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O) or other enterprise finance systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python is a plus, particularly for scripting and automation tasks.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across functional teams.
