Your role: We’re looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to play a pivotal role in developing and executing marketing activity to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth. This role is part of the customer acquisition team whose focus is to drive growth in digital subscriptions for The Times and Sunday Times and will also be responsible for marketing for Times Events and TLS. You will be a skilled marketer with strong creative and commercial instincts who can work collaboratively with the Customer team to create innovative campaigns that align with The Times and Sunday Times' values and objectives.


Day to day you will:

  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing Communications to devise and deliver campaigns across owned, earned and paid channels that drive brand, reputational and commercial growth.
  • Create campaign strategies rooted in data and insight with clear objectives, audience targeting and measurement plans and insightful and inspiring creative briefs.
  • Lead the development and delivery of marketing materials ensuring execution is best in class, with compelling creative that has clear messaging and is designed to be platform first.
  • Build strong relationships with creative and media agencies to execute multi-channel marketing strategies, enhancing presence, increasing readership and driving new subscriptions.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of marketing campaigns, using data-driven insights to optimise tactics and improve ROI and lead campaign reports.
  • Manage a team of two marketing managers, a copywriter and one exec; set clear goals and KPIs, regularly reviewing performance and coaching development
  • Be a brand guardian, working with the wider Customer team to develop and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring consistency in all communications and visual elements.
  • Plan and oversee efficient and effective use of owned media assets including House press, digital and Times radio allocations.
  • Collaborate closely with editorial, commercial and product teams to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment of marketing efforts.


What we’re looking for from you:

  • Progressive experience in marketing, ideally with a well known and respected brand, experience within the media/publishing industry is beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent understanding of digital marketing, social media platforms, analytics tools, and emerging trends in the media landscape with proven experience of stand out campaigns.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excels working with cross-functional teams and different levels of stakeholders .
  • An eye for detail and a strong feel for copy.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to use data and insight to inform solutions.
  • High energy and track record of thriving in a fast paced environment with multiple projects on the go that are hitting budgets and deadlines.
