The Role
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Project Engineer (Senior) Mechanical to join our team at NDY. In this pivotal position, you will play a significant role in delivering engineering services from design through to construction across various sectors, including Commercial, Residential, Hotels, and Retail. You will be integral to our Mechanical team and collaborating with a dynamic group of professionals to innovate the built environment.
Key Challenges:
- Effectively communicate with clients and technical staff at all levels to understand project requirements and expectations.
- Design and document mechanical systems through concept, design development, and detailed documentation phases.
- Coordinate project delivery by liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all disciplines are aligned.
- Review technical submissions by contractors and maintain construction quality against specified requirements.
- Monitor project progress and manage timelines to ensure timely delivery of engineering services.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior engineers and participate in their professional development.
- Actively contribute to business development through relationship building and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A recognised mechanical engineering qualification with at least five years (preferably eight to ten) engineering experience in mechanical building services design.
- Proven experience in project leadership and management of multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders across various technical backgrounds.
- Familiarity with the full range of RIBA design stages, from Stage 1 through to Stage 4A tender design.
- A working knowledge of other engineering disciplines, including electrical, public health, and fire protection, is highly desirable.
