Reed is partnering with a leading UK energy. This is an opportunity is to join an engineering team as a Staff or Senior Staff Engineer, supporting the pipeline and terminal operations across the Southwest.
This is a high role reports directly to the Logistics Engineering Manager, where you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring asset integrity, regulatory compliance and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain inspection programs for pipelines and above-ground storage tanks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage routine inspection programs, developing repair strategies for defects and setting re-inspection periods using RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) systems.
- Conduct system design reviews to ensure compliance with national legislation and relevant industry codes and guidelines.
- Lead assigned maintenance and capital projects related to all aspects of the UK & Ireland fuel storage business.
- Coordinate and disseminate changes to the pipeline and tank integrity program to appropriate personnel.
- Act as the SME for asset integrity when dealing with industry regulators.
- Complete technical engineering assessments, develop defect acceptance criteria, and repair procedures.
- Lead the development of risk management programs and provide engineering support for the design, installation, and startup of capital projects.
- Perform cost tracking and status reporting for assigned projects.
- Supervise company and contract personnel or engineering firms as needed.
- Ensure all company standards and procedures reflect legislation changes and meet compliance with industry codes and legal standards.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Engineering field (BEng Hons as a minimum).
- Professional registration such as IMechE Chartered Engineer.
- Minimum of 8 years’ engineering experience within a Terminal/Refinery or similar environment.
- Experience in overseeing the design and implementation of system repairs and upgrades.
- Familiarity with risk-based inspection, ILI inspection tools, and managing inspection data.
