The post holder will work in the MSK outpatient service at either Wythenshawe or Withington Community Hospital (South Manchester Hospitals). We accepts referrals from secondary care specialties such as orthopaedics, pain and rheumatology and also provide a physiotherapy service for Primary Care referrals. At South Manchester, B6 MSK physiotherapists contribute to the orthopaedic weekend rota at Wythenshawe Hospital. The post holder may work cross site including Altrincham and Trafford general Hospital .
The successful candidate will carry an independent caseload of patients with musculoskeletal problems, and deliver a high standard of evidence-based physiotherapy. There are opportunities to experience running rehabilitation groups as well as seeing patients in a clinic environment.
- Delivery of evidence-based physiotherapy management of patients with musculoskeletal presentations
- Supervision of rehab assistants and band 5 physiotherapists
- Clinical mentorship of student physiotherapists
- Service development projects, such as audit and quality improvement programmes
- Participate in orthopaedic weekend rota
