Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Monday to Friday
Location: Home based in South with travel as required
Salary: £33,500 per annum
As a Senior Occupational Health Technician at Medigold Health, you will play a pivotal role in managing and mentoring a dedicated team of Occupational Health Technicians, ensuring the delivery of high-quality health surveillance services to our clients.
You will ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and Medigold’s clinical standards, while empowering your team through training, competency assessments, and ongoing support.

Main Objectives
- Support Associate Director/Clinical lead to manage and mentor a team of allocated OHT’s and Screening Nurses
- To deliver a competent professional and high quality health surveillance service to all clients of Medigold Health.
- To promote the business of Medigold Health and act as its representative.
- To effectively manage and support designated OHT’s and screening nurses
- Manage and provide professional leadership, advice, support and guidance to assigned Occupational Health Technicians and Screening Nurses.
- Act as a professional role model and provide strong, facilitative and effective leadership.
- Provide support to colleagues through potentially difficult and challenging situations.
Specific Responsibilities
Clinical
- To provide health surveillance in accordance with current UK legislation.
- To maintain appropriate clinical records in line with company policies and procedures on record keeping.
- Support client drug and alcohol screening programme.
- Where competent, provide immunisations as per company policies and procedures (applies only to registered nurses).
- Undertake phlebotomy service provision where required to support the business.
- Ensure adequate stock of equipment and clinical paperwork where required.
- To provide wellness/health promotion activities as required.
- Ensure all equipment checks, calibration and servicing is conducted as per company policy.
Management
- To empower Occupational Health Technicians and Screening Nurses to undertake a wide range of clinical activities by ensuring appropriate training, updating and monitoring of relevant training programmes.
- Attend scheduled meetings in-house, with the ability to share relevant business news with team.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with internal clinical audits.
- Develop good working relationships and maintain effective communications with all team members and clients where applicable.
- To contribute to the development of policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
- Support development of staff, ranging from assessing competency and continuous development.
- In co-operation with HR and Assoc Direct of clinical governance, ensure training and competency records are accurate and updated.
• In co-operation with HR, manage designated team in accordance with company policies and Procedures.
General
- Proactive in supporting induction process for new staff members.
- Support Associate Director/Team Lead with development and successful delivery of internal study days.
- Maintain working knowledge of company policies and procedures and adopt accordingly.
- Maintain a flexible approach to the role according to professional and service delivery needs.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post.

- If a registered nurse, maintain registration with the NMC and comply with NMC guidelines in relation to clinical practice and supervision.
- Ensure mobile unit is well maintained and stocked as per company policy and procedure. ( as applicable).
- Maintain high standard of cleanliness of equipment and vehicle.
- Be geographically aware and plan routes, liaising with the Health Surveillance Manager regarding logistics.
- To comply with the Medigold Data Protection policy and procedures.
- Participate in administrative duties as required.
- Identify improvements/enhancements to the service where necessary.
- Compliant with Medigold Health policies and procedures for example recording mileage and expenses.
- Maintain professional development, participate in and provide training as required, highlighting any area where further training is required.
- Maintain competency matrix for team of OHT’s.
- Assist Associate Director of Health Surveillance in the organisation of Screening team/OHT Study Days.
Requirements for this role
- Full UK driving licence
- General Nursing qualification or OH Technician experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Occupational Health Technician/Screening Nurse.
- Flexibility to travel all over UK including overnight stays when necessary.
- Shall possess refined communication and confident interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, paying careful attention to detail and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficient with use of Microsoft office
- IT literate and confident using multiple software systems
