About Us
The Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital is a world class independent rehabilitation centre based in Aylesbury, with an international reputation for excellence in treating patients with spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, stroke, and a variety of other neurological and medical conditions.
The Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital was established in Aylesbury in 1832 and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region. The ownership of the hospital was transferred to our new management team in January 2023. By joining our existing portfolio, the hospital is now run professionally and provides clinical care to private, insured and NHS patients, with a strong ethos on caring for our staff.
Significant ongoing investment into both hospitals includes complete refurbishment of the wards, the outpatient area, reception, staff facilities, radiology and the construction of additional state-of-the-art operating theatres and endoscopy suites.
We have over 50 consultants, all of whom are leaders in their specialist fields and choose to hold their private practices here, working alongside our friendly, highly qualified and experienced nursing and support teams. The clinical outcomes of the hospital are of the highest standards. The latest CQC report rated our hospital standards as good across all parameters.

As a valued employee of RBH your role is to work with your immediate department team as well as the whole hospital team to deliver an outstanding holistic person-centred rehabilitation service. It is imperative to work collaboratively as each department will contribute to ensure these outcomes are achieved and the patient’s hospital rehabilitation experience is as positive it can be. The person & scope
To work within the therapy department to provide occupational therapy assessment and rehabilitation to Patients with neuro-disability on an individual and group basis according to the agreed goals and objectives of Patients
Contribute to multi-disciplinary working across the Hospital and to work collaboratively with colleagues, nursing staff and other departments in the Hospital in the pursuit of providing an outstanding service and experience for Patients, and to ensure effective communication with other members of the team, Patients and relatives.
Be dedicated to continuous professional development and seek learning opportunities to improve departmental clinical objectives

Duties and Responsibilities
We are a small hospital and therefore expect the whole hospital to work as a team to ensure we always provide outstanding service level, this may require you helping out in other departments on occasion when asked.
To work within the agreed framework of this job description, your Code of Professional Conduct and CQC and other regulatory frameworks, including those relating to Patient records, risk assessment and appropriate management of risks.

To ensure all mandatory training is kept up to date as defined by the Hospital, to attend supervision sessions and to undertake an annual appraisal, including completion and renewal of clinical competencies relevant to the purpose of the role, as directed by the Hospital
Ensure knowledge and skills are kept up to date by attending additional training as identified during supervision, appraisal and development sessions, and to ensure these are reflected in practice during your working shift.
To ensure the values, policies and ethos of the Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital are upheld in all dealings to ensure high standards of care and the good reputation of the Hospital are maintained.
