Description

A high-growth pensions insurance business is building for scale — and operational resilience is now a strategic priority. This is a rare opportunity to join at a pivotal moment, shape the organisation’s resilience framework, and influence how critical services, customer commitments, and regulatory obligations are protected as the business expands.

You’ll operate with visibility across technology, risk, operations, and senior leadership, helping to define resilience strategy, establish best-practice controls, and strengthen operational assurance. Ideal if you’re looking for ownership, regulatory challenge, and the chance to build capability rather than maintain legacy process.

What you’ll do

Develop, embed and mature the operational resilience framework, standards and governance model.
Identify important business services, define impact tolerances and oversee mapping of processes, systems, and critical third-party dependencies.
Strengthen and maintain business continuity, disaster recovery and incident management processes with regular testing and assurance.
Lead resilience assessments, scenario exercises, risk reviews and remediation activity, ensuring regulatory readiness and control effectiveness.
Partner with senior leaders to build resilience awareness and influence strategic decisions across change, operations and technology.
Monitor evolving industry expectations (PRA/FCA, outsourcing, DORA, operational risk frameworks) and ensure the business remains compliant and future-ready.

About you

Experience in operational resilience, business continuity, operational risk or similar governance disciplines within financial services — ideally pensions, insurance or regulated investment environments.
Strong understanding of resilience regulation and best practice across FCA/PRA requirements, outsourcing and third-party risk frameworks, and resilience testing.
Comfortable operating in fast-growing or transforming organisations where frameworks and capability are still evolving.
Confident communicator able to influence cross-functional teams and engage senior stakeholders, including at board and committee level.
Proactive mindset with a focus on continual improvement, delivery, and a hands-on approach where needed.
