An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our in-house Orthotics team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Guy's and St Thomas' is one of the largest hospital Trusts in the country, with a staff of over 25,000 and 2.6 million patient contacts a year. The Trust comprises two of London’s oldest and best-known teaching hospitals. - To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality clinical orthotic service, incorporating detailed assessment, measurement, fitting and review of patients based on current good practice and evidence based orthotic treatment.
- Coordinate and lead clinics as directed by the Clinical Lead Orthotist and management team.
- Participate in the development of departmental policy, protocols, guidelines and standards for orthotics.
- Provide high level clinical expertise and accountability for the assessment and diagnosis of complex patients including second opinions and advice to junior staff.
- Develop and promote the Orthotic Service in liaison with the Service Manager and Clinical Lead Orthotist. Liaise with consultants, clinicians, therapists, orthotic colleagues and managers as required to provide an efficient and effective orthotic service.
- Support junior staff in their performance and development and participate in student training.
The Orthotic Department Is Based At Bowley Close Rehabilitation Centre, a Purpose Designed Building With Specialist Staffing, Equipment And Facilities Necessary For The Assessment And Treatment Of People With Disabilities. Our Services Include

We provide an award-winning level of service to residents across London, adjacent areas and nationally. The Orthotics Services operate at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital and several rehabilitation units and local child development centres, bringing with this role a huge opportunity to be exposed to interesting and varied caseloads. Many of our clinics are held in a multidisciplinary setting and our specialities include neuro-rehabilitation, paediatrics, foot and ankle, diabetic and specialist polio KAFO clinics.
