This new role in Overview & Scrutiny comes at an exciting time for the Council and is a crucial position for someone looking to put their own stamp on the role and be a leader within the authority.
Working with the Senior Leadership Team and Members of the Council to ensure effective and transparent Overview and Scrutiny is provided to the Council. Working with the Democratic Services Manager to ensure that the Overview and Scrutiny functions are carried out to the highest standard and being a leader in providing good governance.
This role is instrumental to the Council's reputation and capacity to be an effective leader within the governance sphere.
The postholder will be responsible for managing the Overview and Scrutiny function at the Council, whilst being a senior figure within the team on projects that affect the Democratic Services Team, including the proposals around Local Government Reorganisation.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.

Working Pattern: Full Time – 5 days a week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £47,181 - £52,413 per annum (City Pay Band 7), pro rata for part time.
Location: This is flexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly.
