🎯 Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior People Advisor to join our Nottingham-based team. This is a generalist role covering the full breadth of People team activities, including colleague relations, recruitment, performance management, learning & development, and People projects. You’ll play a key role in supporting our people strategy and driving continuous improvement across the colleague lifecycle.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day People support and guidance to managers and colleagues across all departments
• Manage colleague relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management
• Support recruitment activities including job design, interviewing, and onboarding
• Lead and contribute to People projects (e.g., wellbeing, engagement, DEI, policy reviews)
• Support performance management and development conversations
• Maintain and update People systems and ensure data accuracy
• Assist with compensation and benefits queries and annual review processes
• Collaborate with the wider People team on initiatives that enhance colleague experience
• Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies
  
  

🧠 Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a generalist HR/People role (ideally within a fast-paced or scientific/technical environment)
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR/People best practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Experience handling ER cases and supporting managers confidently
• Comfortable working with People systems and data
• CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) preferred
