Hello! We're Teya.
Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.
At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.
We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.
We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.
We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.
Become a part of our story.
We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Your Mission
We’re looking for an experienced Senior People Partner to support our Engineering org during a critical phase of growth and scale. You’ll act as a right hand to our CTO and their leadership team, driving the people agenda in a complex, mission-aligned, high-performance environment.
You’ll be embedded within the Engineering team to bring deep expertise, strong commercial acumen, and the confidence to navigate challenging conversations at pace. You’ll act as a strategic thought partner on talent strategy, org design, leadership enablement and all things people, whilst rolling up your sleeves to make things happen.
You’ll report into the Head of People Partnering and play a visible, influential role within the Engineering leadership team, directly impacting how we scale, lead, and enable our teams to win.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering leadership (VPs, Directors, Leads) to drive org design, workforce planning, team effectiveness, and leadership capability aligned to business priorities.
- Own the people strategy for Engineering, translating commercial goals into clear talent initiatives across the employee lifecycle; from talent planning through to performance, development, and retention.
- Act as a trusted coach and advisor to leaders and managers through periods of growth, change, and complexity with clarity and decisiveness whilst challenging constructively where needed.
- Drive a high-performance culture, ensuring clarity of expectations, robust feedback mechanisms, and decisive action is taken on both high and low performance.
- Lead core People programs (performance reviews, compensation cycles, talent planning, organisational changes) in partnership with our Centres of Excellence.
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making, anticipate people risks, influence decisions, and improve employee experience and engagement.
Requirements
- Proven track record as a senior HR/People Partner supporting Engineering or Tech orgs in scaling, fast-growth environments, ideally within FinTech or SaaS.
- Experience partnering directly with C-level leaders and their leadership teams.
- Deep expertise in org design, talent strategy, performance management, and leadership development.
- High resilience and emotional intelligence. You’re thick-skinned, steady under pressure, and able to navigate sensitive, complex people issues with empathy and pace.
- Strong commercial acumen. You understand business levers and how people strategy drives outcomes.
- Exceptional communication skills to simplify complexity, build trust, and align stakeholders with clarity.
- A hands-on, builder’s mindset. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, proactive in finding solutions, iterate quickly and operate without heavy process.
The Perks
- We trust you, so we offer flexible working hours, as long it suits both you and your team
- Physical and mental health support through our partnership with Wellhub giving free access to over 1,500 gyms in the UK, 1-1 therapy, meditation sessions, digital fitness and nutrition apps
