The post holder will be an experienced clinical pharmacist with highly developed interpersonal skills. They will work under the guidance of the Principal Pharmacist Medicines Governance & Antimicrobial Stewardship to ensure systems are in place for the safe management of medicines across the Trust.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the development, delivery and monitoring of long and short term strategies for antimicrobial stewardship and medication safety. The post holder will work closely with Principal Pharmacist Medicines Governance & Antimicrobial Stewardship, senior pharmacy technician for medication safety/antimicrobial stewardship, relevant medical, nursing and pharmacy staff as well as consultant microbiologists and infection control team to achieve such aims.
The post holder will be required to work effectively with the Trust Medication Safety Committee, the Trust Infection Control Committee, the Antimicrobial Stewardship Group and the Antifungal Stewardship Group and wider multidisciplinary clinical staff (medical, nursing and pharmacy).
The role will lead on audit and assurance programmes in relation to safe/secure handling of medicines, antimicrobial prescribing and stewardship as well as providing expert advice to ensure standards are met.
