An exciting opportunity is now available for a Senior Planner – Logistics, this role will see you become part of our growing Delivery team in our operational team, providing support on various Scottish Water Framework contracts.

About You

As a key member of the Water Consultancy business, your role as Senior Planner – Logistics is critical to helping us deliver great projects for our Water Industry clients. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of water project experts on a range of capital delivery projects.

You will have a substantial opportunity to contribute towards optioneering, outline, and detailed design expertise across various frameworks. Our scope of work encompasses a wide range of technically demanding projects in the field of Wastewater Infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

  • Organise all logistics requirements for the business stream.
  • Ensure all required travel arrangements are made.
  • Interact with all levels of management, including suppliers/clients.
  • Liaise with clients – arranging required 3rd party logistical needs.
  • Communicate with client and staff regarding travel arrangements, work requirements and any other logistical matters.
  • Manage sub-contractors ensuring RPS have a shared operational risk contractually.
  • Create and maintain a logistics dashboard, providing live departmental performance measures.
  • Conduct periodic audits of sub-contractors – both desktop and on site.
  • Be the lead for other members of staff with logistics responsibilities.
  • Chair weekly logistics meetings.
  • Undertake monthly reviews of supplier expenditure.
  • Assist with third party invoice approval as needed.

Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

  • People management.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Pursues training and development opportunities and strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.
  • Understanding of traffic management arrangements essential. Understanding of valve operations preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service, internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a Technical or Construction discipline is highly regarded, but not essential.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable.
