What you'll be doing
As a Senior Planning Engineer, you’ll take ownership of planning and scheduling across multi-disciplinary projects. You will:
- Advanced Planning & Scheduling – Develop and maintain fully resourced, logically linked programmes across all stages.
- Tender Leadership – Lead the production of compelling tender programmes and strategies that influence bid outcomes.
- Delivery Oversight – Ensure contract programmes meet commercial, technical, and operational objectives.
- Critical Path & Risk Management – Identify programme risks, assess impacts, and implement robust mitigation.
- Reporting & Insights – Provide detailed planning updates, KPIs, and data-driven insights to project leadership.
- Leadership & Mentorship – Support and mentor junior planners, fostering collaboration and continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Work with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams, and Clients to drive outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement – Champion smarter planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
Who we're looking for
We’re seeking experienced planning professionals who bring structure, clarity, and strategic foresight. You’ll need:
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Significant experience in planning for major infrastructure or energy projects.
- Advanced skills in Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject, plus Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, earned value management, QSRA, and TRA methodologies.
- A strategic and analytical mindset with proven ability to manage programme risk and opportunity.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid delivery environment.
