About The Role
We’re building a high-performing team to deliver one of the UK’s most critical energy infrastructure projects. As a
Senior Planning Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the programme from early-stage planning through to delivery, using advanced tools and methodologies to help power the UK’s journey to
Net Zero.
Project Location: South West; Bridgewater
What you'll be doing
- Programme Leadership: Develop and manage fully resourced, logically linked programmes across all phases.
- Tender Strategy: Lead the creation of compelling tender programmes that influence bid success.
- Delivery Oversight: Ensure contract programmes align with commercial and operational goals.
- Risk & Change Management: Identify risks, analyse impacts, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Reporting & Insights: Deliver planning updates, KPIs, and strategic insights to leadership.
- Mentorship: Guide and support junior planners, fostering collaboration and growth.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with PMs, Engineers, Commercial teams, and Clients.
- Continuous Improvement: Enhance planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
Who we're looking for
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
- Proven experience in planning roles on major infrastructure or energy projects.
- Expertise in Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, Excel, and reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4, earned value, QSRA, and TRA.
- Strategic mindset with a sharp eye for programme risk and opportunity.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead independently and thrive in a hybrid, fast-paced environment.
