Overview
London Borough of Harrow is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join our Children and Young Adults with Disabilities Team. You would be working in the children's (0-18) Team.
The post holder will provide advice and support to social workers and care managers in the team on casework, in addition to the social worker on duty, so that incoming concerns are acted upon in a timely and appropriate manner.
You will also support the Team Manager by acting as the Manager as required and act as Duty Manager when needed.
Furthermore, you will undertake some complex enquiries, liaising with both internal and external colleagues as appropriate, and be required to record actions and decisions in a clear and robust way on the Mosaic database.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge of the legislation/policies that relate to the Children's agenda (details recorded on the role profile)
- Detailed working knowledge of the London multi-agency guidance/procedures for safeguarding children.
- Significant experience in carrying out safeguarding childrens’ enquiries
- Experience of providing professional supervision to social workers, care managers, and/or students
- Experience of presenting cases at Strategy Meetings/Case Conferences
- Ability to present information about safeguarding childrens’ cases
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)
- Registration with Social Work England
- Commitment to working occasional unsocial hours
- Ability to travel for business purposes
