Looking for your next exciting adventure in social work? Look no further! Bromley are seeking highly talented and ambitious registered Senior Practitioners to join us on our journey to excellence.

We are excited to invite individuals interested in applying to the Children and Families Hub to understand the vital role this team plays in supporting children and families in need. The Children and Families Hub acts as a single gateway for early help and protection, and we are committed to ensuring that families receive timely and appropriate interventions.

The core function of the Hub involves screening referrals to assess both early help requests and safeguarding concerns. Using a range of screening tools, we carefully explore the needs and risks presented in each case, ultimately identifying the most appropriate and effective support for families in need.

The team is made up of a multi-agency workforce that includes 4 Team Managers, 12 Social Workers (some with specialisms such as No Recourse to Public Funds and Southwark Judgment), 3 Business Support Officers, and a Business Support Manager. Together, we work to deliver targeted, high-quality interventions for children and families.

We are fortunate to work closely with a wide range of core partners within the Hub, including:

  • Police
  • Health
  • Education
  • Youth Justice Service (YJS)
  • IDVA Navigators

These partners provide valuable intelligence that helps inform our final threshold recommendations. Additionally, we have access to virtual partners such as Probation and ATLAS, who provide critical insights, particularly in relation to children at risk of extra-familial harm.

This collaborative, multi-agency approach ensures that every referral is handled with care and expertise, and that the right intervention is provided as quickly as possible.

If you're interested in becoming part of this dynamic and impactful team, we encourage you to apply and join us in making a difference in the lives of children and families.

The Bromley Children & Families Hub (previously MASH) was fully established in 2014 and has since developed in size and complexity. We are looking to increase the numbers of staff in the Children & Families Hub Service and want to recruit an experienced Social Work Practitioner.

We are seeking applicants with experience in assessing risk in a multi-agency context who are able to demonstrate that they have the knowledge, skills and experience of children and families work. Knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance relating to safeguarding and sharing confidential information with partner agency to protect and support children is essential.

The post holder will contribute to the Social Work perspective and deliver high quality screening, making sound recommendations based, and an ability to make decisions commensurate with the role.
