Are you an experienced underwriting professional passionate about automotive specialty insurance? Join us as a Senior Underwriter, where you’ll lead the underwriting of new business and renewals within automotive specialty lines—including extended warranties, tyre and battery warranties, as well as GAP and RTI insurance.
In this pivotal role, you will provide technical leadership and expertise to your team, acting as the go-to expert for the Sub Line of Business (LoB) Automotive Waranty / Specialty segment. You’ll coordinate and manage quotations globally, driving excellence and innovation across all markets
What You’ll Do
- Lead and coordinate underwriting and quotations for automotive specialty lines on a global scale, with a particular focus on Automotive Warranty and the UK market.
- Deliver best-in-class technical underwriting and thorough risk assessment to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.
- Support governance initiatives alongside the Manager and Head of Product & Underwriting.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management & Innovation, Network Management, and the Technical Product Team to align strategies and initiatives.
- Underwrite complex accounts across global business units, promoting business expansion through effective risk assessment.
- Ensure strict adherence to underwriting guidelines and authorities.
- Partner with sales teams and internal stakeholders, supporting negotiations and contributing to pricing, actuarial, and underwriting workstreams
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in underwriting or actuarial roles related to the automotive sector.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in working with data-driven insights.
- Deep knowledge of insurance principles and the automotive warranty market.
- Business-level fluency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, actuarial, mathematics, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience steering projects successfully.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile, and dynamic environment.
- Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders with confidence and professionalism.
- Passion for/skills in Data Analytics and Data Cleaning to ensure accurate insights and efficient data utilization
