Key Responsibilities
- Collates, models, interprets and analyses data; explains variances and trends in the plastics recycling sector.
- Develop deep understanding of recycling market drivers and contribute to the production of written analysis explaining and predicting market developments.
- Apply market understanding to developing long-term forecasts for supply, demand and pricing.
- Fundamental data research relevant to the plastics recycling value chain.
- Effective maintenance and regular updating of key data sets.
- Idea generation for expansion in this sector.
- Identify enhancements to data generation, analysis and modelling.
- Engage with the industry and clients through event/conference attendance, client engagement and other marketing activities.
- External presentation of the team’s analysis and representation of ICIS at related events.
- Broaden and add further detail to our coverage of our plastic recycling data sets.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics or market intelligence, with a proven track record of delivering analysis of market trends.
- Experience in recycle polymer markets (either in analytics or commercial role), with a focus on polyolefins an advantage.
- Proficient in data analytics skills and visualization tools (e.g., Python, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience working with large, complex datasets (structured and unstructured).
- Solid understanding of statistics, modelling and forecasting.
- Strong business acumen and communication skills — able to deliver insight into strategy level engagements.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a Sustainability related discipline, chemical engineering, business studies, Environmental Economics & Policy, PhD is a plus.
