Job Title: Senior Fire Engineer – IEng HRB or CEng (HRB), SOCOTEC
To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Building and Real Estate Division. SOCOTEC's Fire Engineering and Safety teams provide an award-winning, flexible and forward-thinking approach, as well as a high level of technical capability, providing our clients with cost-effective and practical solutions for the full range of fire safety problems.
We're looking for a
Senior Fire Engineer to deliver high-quality fire engineering consultancy to major clients with a specific focus on Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs), including:
- Leading and coordinating Building Safety Case development, ensuring robust assessments and compliance with the Building Safety Act
- Preparing Fire Appraisal Reports and Fire HAZID assessments to support Safety Case Reports
- Reviewing fire safety strategies and associated mark-ups for HRB buildings
- Providing technical advisory input and undertaking site inspections during design, construction and remediation stages

- A bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering with a postgraduate Fire Engineering qualification
- Working towards or achieved Incorporated HRB registration with the Engineering Council and full membership with the IFE
- At least four years' experience in Fire Safety Engineering
- Strong technical competence in fire dynamics, evacuation, structural fire behaviour and passive/active systems
- In-depth knowledge of statutory guidance (ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999, HTMs, BB100, BS 7974 series) and HRB legislation
