Salary - National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £28,800 to £38,333 and London from £31,600 to £42,133 per annum (salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

The newly created Internal Comms, External Affairs and Transparency department contains both internal and external facing teams. The External Affairs team is the interface between the FCA and key external audiences including Parliament, business and consumer groups, think tanks and Government. The internal comms team is at the heart of the employee experience managing employee communications across the FCA and our Correspondence teams handle our executive correspondence, MP letters and processes and release information under the Freedom of Information Act, Publication Scheme, DP Witness statements, Re-use of Public Sector Information.
What will you be doing?
- Coordinating diary and room bookings to support scheduling needs
- Managing inbox and document reviews for efficient workflow
- Preparing daily briefing packs to assist decision-making
- Organising and recording minutes for fortnightly management meetings
- Facilitating appraisal meetings and moderation processes
- Handling delegated administrative tasks, including expenses and leave management
What will you get from the role?
- Maintain and update the departmental budget tracker to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Support the departmental risk register, coordinating regular review meetings and documenting outcomes
- Manage stakeholder relationships, maintaining key contacts and ensuring effective communication
- Oversee coordination with key suppliers, fostering productive partnerships and smooth operations
- Organise and facilitate weekly leadership meetings, keeping records up to date and managing distribution lists
- Plan and coordinate internal and external events, including town halls and FCA-wide engagements

Minimum
- Experience in delivering high-quality administrative support, including mailbox and diary management
- Experience of working confidently and effectively with a wide range of senior internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of working with Microsoft Office applications

- Demonstrate ability and confidence in exercising sound judgement to make timely decisions on the Head of Department’s behalf, informed by the relevant information
- Flexibility to adapt and react to changing circumstances, reprioritising as necessary and a willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to maintain security, trust and confidentiality of information
- Proven ability to communicate with individuals at all levels
- A flexible and collaborative team player with the ability to work on your own initiative, be proactive and influence others
