Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic and experienced
Senior Project Manager to contribute to the
Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
What you'll be doing
The Successful Candidate Will
- Safely manage all aspects of the Turbine Hall and ‘Structure’ Works;
- Coordinate design outputs from Technip Energies and other designers;
- Lead procurement and deliver the construction of these Works;
- Support the Construction Director to coordinate these and other Works;
- Lead and mentor subordinates to ensure high levels of project control and appropriate records are maintained during the construction, with emphasis on defect avoidance and zero defects at completion;
- Report progress and performance of the Works in regular management team meetings;
- Review contractual and technical information and ensure that any ambiguities or shortcomings are identified and resolved;
- Lead the team to develop construction methodology, SSHEQ procedures, RAMS, ITP’s, and programmes;
- Ensure that suitable resources (Labour, Subcontractors, Plant and Materials) are mobilised to execute the work in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with all relevant SSHEQ, contractual and programme requirements;
- Delegate specific responsibilities to team members and ensure that they are competent to execute their duties;
- Identify any problem areas, agreeing corrective actions with relevant stakeholders, and ensuring their implementation;
- Ensure that any opportunities for team performance improvement are identified and acted upon;
- Ensure that complete and accurate records of the Works are kept;
- Develop programmes and forecast budgets, assess actual programme and productivity achieved and review weekly with the Construction Director;
- Work closely with the rest of the senior leadership team to promote effective teamwork and coordination;
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reports as requested from time-to-time;
- Comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and workplace as required by the Company and the Client.
Who we're looking for
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Qualities/experience
- Building, Construction Management or Construction Project Management qualification to ONC/HNC/Degree level and have at least 10 years relevant professional experience;
- A valid Manager’s CSCS card;
- Previous industrial building experience;
- Managerially and technically proficient;
- A desire to continuously pursue innovation and development;
- Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
