Your Impact
We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager on Gripen Raven Production contract for Saab.
Based on site in Edinburgh you will be part of a large and highly complex Radar production and development programme in Airborne AESA Radar Sector. As such, you will liaise closely with a large, well established Integrated Project Team (IPT) comprised of a multi-site cross-functional skillset of production, engineers and other professionals from across the business.
The focus of this role is Production, working on successful customer deliveries and driving production improvement activities. There is also interactions with the customer, concentrating mostly on output of repairs and how this is planned and executed most efficiently with new build requirements.
This is an exciting role, as the Senior Project Manager will be key in not only executing the current deliveries but building on this for new contracts.
- You will report directly to the Programme Manager on Production output, working alongside a Lead Project Manager and with line management responsibilities of one Project Leader.
- You will lead the IPT in the successful delivery of a compliant project in line with the Customer, Contractual and Legislative requirements. This is achieved through effective planning and management of team performance and project schedule and cost. In addition, this role will require a systematic approach to maximize value creation within the commercial constraints.
- You will ensure effective communications to proactively encourage project delivery across all functional business areas to achieve cost, quality and schedule within budget.
- You will proactively monitor project progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
- You will identify and manage risks to the production project, including the development of contingency plans.
- You will engage and input into business winning activities, such as bidding.
- You will engage with Integrated Project Teams, and vendors in line with level of accountability.
- You will conduct project reviews and make recommendations to appropriate business areas.
- You will be involved in daily interactions with key members of the IPT
- You will be on Edinburgh site c.3 days per week
What You'll Bring
- You will typically be degree qualified in a business or engineering related discipline or an equivalent suitable level of work experience
- You will have Project Management experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders
- You will be enthusiastic and well organised
- You will have the ability to embrace and work to tight timescales/deadlines.
- You will be a team player and have the natural ability to support others and seek support
- You will possess effective and flexible communication, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong stakeholder management
- A pro-active approach with a "can do" attitude, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency And it would be beneficial if you have
- A working knowledge of SAP
- APM / PMP qualification (or working towards a qualification)
