Senior Project Manager – Workday (HCM) Implementation

Location: Hybrid (with regular travel to Dorset)

Daily rate: £550-£600 per day.

Contract: 6 months.

About the Role

Our client is embarking on an exciting digital transformation journey, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the implementation of Workday (HCM).

As the Senior Project Manager, you’ll be critical to the project's success. This is a unique opportunity to join the project from day 1, leading the mobilisation of the project including the identification and validation of the system's integrator.

Working across departments and with external partners, you’ll bring structure, clarity, and leadership to ensure the project delivers meaningful results. Your work will directly enable their people to work more effectively and feel more connected to the shared purpose.

What You’ll Do

Lead the successful first stages of Workday (HCM) project.
Oversee identification and validation of the system integrator (SI).
Manage budgets, timelines, governance, and quality to ensure successful delivery.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external implementation partners.
Build trusted relationships across HR, IT, Finance, and Operations teams.
Track and report on project progress, risks, and benefits.
Ensure a smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.

About You

You’ll be a confident and collaborative Project Manager who thrives in a purpose-led environment. You combine technical delivery skills with empathy, communication, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

You’ll bring:

Proven experience delivering Workday HCM
A strong background in technology-enabled change and large-scale system replacement projects.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working in non-profit or public sector.
Experience managing risk, governance, and budgets in a multi-project environment.
Understanding of systems integration, data migration, and enterprise processes.
Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, APM, or PMP, or equivalent practical experience.
