The purpose of this role is to support with safely and successfully delivering Capital Delivery Projects across the airport portfolio. You will work in conjunction with the Capital Delivery and Asset Management Teams at the airport, supporting on delivery to agreed budgets and timescales.
Our Capital Delivery projects currently include all 3 airports and all categories, Terminals, Airfield, and Infrastructure. We forecast capital investment FY21 circa £130m, and this role will have accountable delivery of the annual CAPEX spend, 20+ contractors, and over £2million spend.
Responsibilities Broadly Include
Adopting an “Airport as the customer” approach to successful delivery of projects ensuring minimal disruption to Airport operations
Maintaining a clear focus on driving programme efficiencies through intelligent resource utilisation and project bundling opportunities
Championing HSE
Delivering as promised – Cost, Schedule & Quality
In terms of experience, the successful candidate will ideally have experience of working the transport sector (Aviation; Rail; Highways) delivering complex construction projects. A University Degree and Chartered or Incorporate Engineer is highly desirable but not as essential as PM qualifications - APMQ or Prince2
We are also looking for organisation leadership, the ability to deliver through others, influence without direct control and experience handling project development from explore through to handover.
Demonstrable success in the above is important, as is commercial acumen
Project development and delivery, Strong IT skill, including MS Word and Excel
- Strong stakeholder management skills; able to engage and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder demands.
