As part of their growing Major Projects Team, they’re seeking a driven and commercially astute Senior Project Manager to play a key role in managing and delivering an array of intricate capital projects that are valued at £20 million and above. This position is crucial as the Senior Project Manager will not only oversee operational efficiency but also ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget, contributing significantly to the organisation's strategic goals.

Job Description

This senior project manager role demands a wealth of experience within the utilities sector, particularly regarding large-scale projects with budgets exceeding $20 million. Ideal candidates will not only possess deep technical skills but also a profound understanding of the complexities associated with managing extensive initiatives. Familiarity with pipeline projects and a solid grounding in contract management will further align applicants with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of major capital infrastructure projects by meticulously planning and executing them to ensure they are completed on schedule, conforming to defined scope, and adhering to budgetary constraints.
• Manage cross-functional project teams effectively while fostering strong contractor relationships throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and uphold rigorous internal governance processes throughout project execution.
• Drive commercial success and optimise contract performance through a comprehensive understanding of NEC contract management principles and practices.
• Provide robust leadership in risk management, engage actively with stakeholders, and maintain transparent project reporting to ensure all interests are aligned.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing large utility projects.
• Strong understanding of pipeline project management and contract administration.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks successfully.
• Relevant project management certifications (such as PMP, Prince2, etc.) are desirable.
• Experience in NEC contract management is advantageous.
• APM qualification or equivalent credentials would be beneficial.
