Job title: Senior Project Planner

Salary: Up to £49,000 (dependent on skills and experience)
What You’ll Be Doing
- The individual will create, maintain and control the project and delivery schedules, including the monitoring and reporting of project status. Actively work to resolve scheduling issues, working with internal and external stakeholders to formulate recovery plans
- Translating the ship design into Level 1/Level 2 schedules, logic, resourcing, and budget
- Delivering an enabled network schedule in line with the Integrated Master Schedule, declared cardinal dates, and quarterly look-ahead aspirations
- Allocating task budgets and alignment of work scope budgets with Project/Control Account Manager (CAM) targets
- Taking accountability for maintaining quality standards within plans and compliance to governance measure
- Providing key support and guidance to the Management Team through regular engagement and a visible presence “on the floor” as the project moves through all phases – Engineering, Supply Chain, Build, Commissioning, and Acceptance. Supporting weekly project reviews / playing active part in meetings
- Being informed and able to validate, advise, and challenge progress and completion forecasts, to identify schedule risk and required enablers
Essential
Your skills and experiences:
- Understanding of planning structures and principles
- Skilled user of modern planning systems planning/scheduling systems (e.g. Primavera P6, MSP)
- Excellent communication skills with proven stakeholders relationship management background
- Experience in Defence or related complex engineering or production environment
Desirable
- Detailed knowledge of full project lifecycle

The Scheduling Team
The Scheduling team offers exciting career opportunities in this critical skill area and associated development activity. You will be responsible for the development and definition of Project activities which allow the assigning of resource and application of workable logic within the planning toolset. Liaising directly with the key project stakeholders you will monitor feedback and reports on the network schedules to both internal and external customers. You will be responsible for the development & definition of Level 1 and Level 2 schedules form Statement of Work/Project Control Account requirements aligning to the Naval Ships WBS
