Description
Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow

Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on skills and experience

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Auditing, identifying and raising non-conformances to uphold quality standards
  • Documenting quality trends using Pareto analysis to pinpoint and prioritise areas for improvement
  • Applying learning from previous contracts and experiences to reduce future quality escapes
  • Leading and contributing to project reviews, improvement forums, and knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Developing and delivering visual presentations, toolbox talks, and quality alerts to drive awareness and engagement

Essential

Your skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience in quality assurance and control within industrial or heavy engineering environments
  • HNC qualification in a STEM subject, or significant practical experience in shipbuilding
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and dynamic work environments
  • Demonstrated capability in continuous improvement practices and Lean methodologies

Desirable

  • Certification as an ISO 9001 Internal Auditor

The Type 26 Platform Quality Assurance Team

Be part of a dynamic team in the Type 26 programme, combining expertise from various disciplines. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager for Platform, you’ll work across the full project lifecycle with engineering, operations, and project management teams. Tasks vary daily, giving broad exposure to quality disciplines. You’ll gain insight, practical experience, and benefit from continuous development, including qualifications and auditor training—making this role ideal for those eager to grow and make a meaningful impact.
