Senior Quantity Surveyor

AVK-SEG is a market leading specialist contractor delivering power infrastructure for data centres across the UK. Our commercial teams oversee pricing, partnerships, supply chain, contracts, and manage the profitability of our major projects.

We are seeking a Senior QS Lead to take full commercial ownership for £20m+ Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) led projects, along with to oversee and mentor a small team of two commercial staff.

Role Responsibilities

• Cradle-to-grave commercial management, cost reporting and contract administration
• Work closely with clients, engineers, operations, and major subcontractors to protect value and drive commercial performance
• Full accountability for cost reporting, CVRs/CBRs, valuations, and final accounts
• Manage client and subcontractor variations and commercial negotiations
• Lead procurement of M&E subcontractors and manage major contracts (JCT, FIDIC, etc.)
• Track cost and value through robust Excel-based reporting models
• Act as a senior commercial stakeholder across operations, engineering, and client teams
• Ensure alignment with government or regulated frameworks where required
  
  

What are we looking for?

Essential:

• Senior QS with strong M&E or power infrastructure experience (civil backgrounds also considered)
• 5+ years managing £20m+ projects from start to finish
• Confident in contract management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
• Highly accountable, self-starting, and comfortable running projects independently
• Strong Excel and commercial reporting capability
• Comfortable leading and coaching others to achieve common goals
  

Desirable:

• Quantity Surveying (QS) or Commercial Management degree
• RICS accredited (or working towards)
• Experience in scalable or high-growth construction businesses
