Location: Glasgow / Dumbarton
Project Type: Exxon Bowling Strategic Infrastructure Project
Company: Balfour Beatty – Regional Scotland
About Us
Delivering Regeneration. Driving Commercial Excellence.
Be at the heart of one of Scotland’s most transformative engineering initiatives—the redevelopment of the former ExxonMobil site in Bowling. Located on the River Clyde waterfront, this project is unlocking mixed‑use infrastructure, new spine roads, rail underbridges, upgraded junctions, and green urban enhancements.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor with civil engineering experience, you will:
- Lead commercial and contractual control across complex Earthworks, Access Road, Junction and Rail Underbridge elements.
- Develop and execute commercial strategy aligned with project objectives and fiscal targets.
- Prepare and maintain cost reporting systems, manage forecasts, and ensure budget alignment.
- Monitor cashflow, contract valuations, and variations, turning them into agreed settlement orders promptly.
- Oversee subcontract procurement and administration, ensuring high value procurement and adherence to subcontract terms.
- Collaborate with Project Management, Transport Scotland, West Dunbartonshire Council and Network Rail stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
Who we're looking for
- Extensive Quantity Surveying experience across civil/infrastructure sectors — earthworks, high‑spec highway, and rail interfaces.
- Proficient with NEC or JCT contract management, contract law, procurement, and variation processes.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Able to manage claims, costs, and contractual risk proactively in fast‑moving environments
- CSCS card holder; RICS, CIOB, ICE, or similar membership preferred.
