SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location: Based in Canary Wharf, London (E14 5HP)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial ownership of multiple projects within the fit-out and M&E sectors.

You’ll be working with a blue-chip banking client, managing 5–6 projects simultaneously and ensuring governance and compliance throughout the entire lifecycle—from concept to closeout. This is a hybrid position, requiring two days per week on-site in Canary Wharf, with occasional travel as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee all commercial aspects of projects from initial concept through delivery and closeout.
• Ensure compliance with governance processes and client approval gateways.
• Advise on procurement strategies, valuations, and final accounts.
• Administer and interpret construction contracts effectively.
• Lead supplier contract management and drive value throughout contract terms.
• Develop sourcing strategies, including market research, RFI/RFQ, and contract development.
• Report commercial positions and Earned Value status to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance, including CDM requirements, across all projects.

About You

• Extensive experience in commercial management within building maintenance, ideally in banking or corporate environments.
• Experience working as a QS in ‘live’ operational environments.
• Proven ability to manage construction contracts up to £10m.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety compliance and CDM regulations.
• Skilled in cost estimation and preparing high-quality tender documents.
• IT proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office (including MS Project), and mobile applications.
• Ability to lead and coach teams effectively.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying and Associate RICS membership (essential).
• MRICS Chartered status or working towards (desirable).
