ROLE
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the delivery of complex construction projects from inception through to completion. You will mentor junior team members, oversee key client relationships, and play an active role in the future growth of the consultancy.
This position is suited to a self-sufficient individual who is commercially savvy, technically capable, and ready to deliver a best-in-class service across a portfolio of high-value schemes.
Responsibilities
Key duties for the Senior Quantity Surveyor will include:
Managing and delivering multiple construction projects, ensuring high-quality service throughout
Leading and mentoring Quantity Surveyors, Assistants, and Apprentices to support their development
Acting as the main point of contact for clients and design consultants
Overseeing key client accounts, maintaining relationships, and identifying new work opportunities
Acting as Employer’s Agent on Design and Build projects
Providing support and training to colleagues, including delivery of internal CPD sessions
Representing our client at industry networking events and promoting services across the market
Ensuring all work aligns with the company’s Quality Management System
Developing and maintaining effective project and time management strategies
Ensuring client satisfaction through clear communication, professionalism, and quality delivery
PERSON
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate the following:
A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or a related discipline
Chartered member of RICS (MRICS)
Extensive experience managing your own projects within a consultancy setting
Strong working knowledge of construction measurement, preferably with CostX
Capable of running projects independently and managing complex workloads
Commercially minded with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A confident negotiator with a client-focused mindset
Full UK driving licence and access to a car, with willingness to travel nationwide when required
