We are looking for a dedicated, skilled Band 6 Radiographer to work within our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Aintree University Hospital.
The successful candidate will work independently producing radiographic images of the highest diagnostic quality with the minimum radiation dose to patients and staff whilst maintaining excellent standards to patient care.
You will be capable of supervising and supporting a team of radiographers, imaging assistants, student radiographers, assistant practitioners and radiographer apprentices offering advice and supervision to less experienced staff.
Participation in the shift rota is essential.
General first line supervision of radiographic work within the Radiology Department.
Tuition of the Radiographic students in Radiographic imaging and Interpretation.
Supervision and coordination of the clinical team, performing imaging examinations at a consistently high technical and professional standard.
Support the Band 7 Lead Radiographers for taking responsibility for the day to day activity within the x-ray department.
Assist with & support development of Band 5 Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners ensuring compliance with department protocols and procedures.
Ensuring QA, preventative maintenance and breakdown is completed and records are maintained.
Involvement in Audit, Research and Presentations.
Maintain correct patient records and statutory radiation records.
Ensure that the code of Practice for Radiation Safety, as drawn up in the Local Rules, is observed at all times, and report any breaches or problems concerning these rules to the Senior RPS / RPA.
